Luke Combs performs “Hurricane” at Opry 100

At the Grand Ole Opry's 100th anniversary celebration, "Opry 100: A Live Celebration," held on March 19, 2025, country superstar Luke Combs delivered a memorable performance that honored both his own musical journey and the legacy of country music.

Taking the stage at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium, Combs began with a heartfelt rendition of George Jones' classic "The Grand Tour," showcasing his deep respect for the genre's pioneers. He followed this with his breakout hit, "Hurricane," the song that catapulted him to fame in 2017. This performance not only highlighted Combs' powerful vocals but also underscored his connection to the Opry, where he has been a member since 2019.

Reflecting on his journey, Combs shared a personal anecdote about his early aspirations: "The first time I attempted to go to the Opry, and I say attempted because I didn't actually make it in, I was still in college." This sentiment added depth to his performance, illustrating how far he has come since his days as a hopeful young artist.

The event, hosted by Blake Shelton, featured a star-studded lineup, including performances by Kelsea Ballerini, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, and many others, each paying tribute to the Opry's century-long influence on country music.
